Watch NHL Star Alex Ovechkin in Weird Russian Pop Video
When National Hockey League (NHL) star Alex Ovechkin isn’t busy sniping the top corner, he’s back home in Russia being used as a brooding scratching post for pop star Katyla Lel. Let us explain.
In the video for her track, “Let Them Talk,” the writhing and grinding Lel wins the battle for body position as Ovechkin stares at the camera as if it just knocked his Washington Capitals out of the playoffs.
For much of the 3:32 clip, this is all that happens: Ovechkin stands his ground, while Lel crashes the net.
Eventually, an actual hockey net makes its way into the video, becoming yet another often-touched, yet static prop. Ovechkin soon breaks from his best statue impression so that he could fire some pucks into Lel’s net. (No innuendo here, folks. That actually happened.)
For this performance, we give ‘The Great 8’ a 1.2 for charisma, but a solid 6.7 for finding new and creative ways to fill his downtime.
