Slipknot Postpones Tour Due to their Singer’s Unexpected Surgery
Slipknot’s summer tour with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice and Men will likely be one of the loudest, most visually astounding tours to hit the road this year. Unfortunately though, fans will have to wait a little longer for it to begin as Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor announced via Facebook that he’s had to undergo unplanned spinal surgery. Here’s his note:
“Regretfully, I’m sending this to our fans to inform you that we will be postponing the first couple of weeks of our upcoming U.S tour. Unfortunately, I had to undergo an unplanned spinal surgery. I am recovering nicely, and all went well! I need a little recovery time before hitting the stage. We will start the summer tour in Nashville on 6/28 and continue as previously scheduled. An update on the rescheduled dates will be available in the next few days. I hope you all understand and thanks for always having my back!”
Let’s just pause for a second and reflect on how rock n’ roll it is for a guy in as heavy of a band as Taylor is in to get back on the road less than a month after having what one would assume to be a pretty serious injury and surgery. Bad. Ass!
No less, here are the postponed dates, followed by the ones that’ll go on as scheduled.
