Riff Clip: Feist & Kevin Drew Soundcheck The Tragically Hip

As yesterday’s 9th Annual Andy Kim Christmas show began to take shape, it was learned that Gordon Downie of The Tragically Hip would no longer be on the everning’s bill. While Riffyou.com wasn’t able to confirm why Downie had to bow out, we were on site at the Virgin Mobile Mod Club as Feist made a surprise appearance during soundcheck just hours away before the concert was to begin.

Obviously in the room to fill Downie’s slot, Feist soon took to the stage to soundcheck The Tragically Hip’s “Flamenco” with Broken Social Scene mate Kevin Drew. With lyrics in hand, Feist beautifully belted out the track as Drew strummed the acoustic. A handful of missteps came about, leading to some truly endearing moments.
