NIN, Cheap Trick, The Smiths Up for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have released the list of those who are up for induction in 2016. Headlining the class is Nine Inch Nails (NIN), Cheap Trick, The Smiths, The Cars, N.W.A., Yes, Chicago, Steve Miller and a bunch more. This will be the second year of eligibility for Nine Inch Nails, The Smiths, and N.W.A.
Fans are encouraged to visit the official Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website to make their voices heard for the ‘fan ballot.’ These votes will be tallied alongside industry-submitted ballots. The list of 2016 inductees will be announced in December.
In 2015, Green Day, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, Lou Reed and Stevie Ray Vaughan were among those inducted into the hall earlier this year.
Notable bands eligible for nomination but not included on this year’s ballot include Soundgarden, Alice In Chains and Jane’s Addiction.
As for the 2016 class, who wouldn’t want to see Trent Reznor, Morrissey and Ice Cube in a room (and perhaps onstage!) together? That would be epic!
