Lana Del Rey Intros New Album: “Ultra-Violence”

lana-del-rey-smallLana Del Rey may finally be ready to appease those aching for a follow-up to her ballsy, perhaps even genius 2012 album, Born to Die.

Last night during the Hollywood premiere of her 30-minute short film, Tropico, Del Rey informed attendees: “I really just wanted us all to be together so I could try and visually close out my chapter before I release the new record, Ultra-Violence.” Once that bomb was dropped, screams and shrieks of enthusiasm filled the room.

Del Rey didn’t choose to provide any further details about Ultra-Violence, an album which some may have not expected to hear about this fast.

During an October interview with Nylon, Del Rey had this to say about peoples’ inquiries regarding her next album: “When people ask me about it, I just have to be honest – I really don’t know. I don’t want to say, ‘Yeah, definitely – the next one’s better than this one,’ because I don’t really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle. She only comes to me sometimes, which is annoying.”

Whoever this muse may be, I’d like to say thanks for coming around.
