Glass Towers Releasing #1 Album Through Dine Alone Records
Australian friends of Riffyou.com, Glass Towers, made their first trek into Canada this past March, introducing themselves to a community that could easily liken them to a sped-up incarnation of Tokyo Police Club, meshed with high-energy Brit-Rock.
With them, they brought their five-track EP, Collarbone Jungle, but that’s proving to be just the beginning, as June 17 will see the Canadian release of their #1 (in Australia) debut full-length, Halcyon Days. Dine Alone Records has the pleasure of putting it out.
In their homeland, this 2013 album landed the band a pair of Rolling Stone Australia Magazine awards for “Best New Talent,” as well as “Single of the Year,” alongside Lorde.
Since their inception, Glass Towers has shared stages with the likes of Metric, Maximo Park, The Kooks, Dappled Cities, and Neil Finn (Crowded House).
“At the end of the day, I’m a nostalgic person,” Glass Towers frontman Benjamin Hannam informed Riffyou.com when discussing what influences his song writing. “I used to have this weird pre-nostalgia, where if a house party happened a week ago, I wouldn’t get melancholy, but would have a deep feeling of longing to be back there on that same night to feel the same feelings.”
