Fat Mike & Tim Armstrong Curating Amnesia Rockfest
The 11th edition of Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, has already confirmed that the punk- and metal-centric music festival will feature NOFX (performing Punk in Drublic), Bring Me the Horizon, Cannibal Corpse, At the Drive In and Cokie the Clown. Now, fans awaiting word on the rest of the bill should feel awesome about who else will eventually be added to the bill. Why’s that?
Well, it’s been confirmed that for the second year in a row, Fat Mike Burkett of NOFX and Tim Armstrong of Rancid will return as “guest curators.” Essentially, the pair of punk rock icons will assist festival founder, Alex Martel, and his team when it comes to deciding which bands will be featured at Amnesia Rockfest.
Last year, the festival featured headline appearances from Linkin Park and System of a Down, as well as sets from The Offspring, Slayer, Pixies, Rob Zombie, Snoop Dogg, Deftones, Bad Religion and more.
The 2016 Amnesia Rockfest will be held from June 23-26.
“Sometimes [Rockfest] feels overwhelming – especially two or three years ago when it really started taking off and becoming huge,” said festival founder Alex Martel during a 2015 interview with Riffyou.com. “We’ve taken it one year at a time and have had to re-adjust. Now I feel like we are at a point where everything is built – it runs itself in a way. But, I’m not the type of person to rest on his laurels, so I feel like it’s going to keep evolving in every aspect.”
