Against Me! Begin New North American Tour in March

After completing their first headlining tour in support of Transgender Dysphoria Blues with multiple home state shows in Florida and an appearance on Letterman, Against Me! has announced that they’ll head back onto the road in March for a slew of North American dates.

The tour will kick off in Omaha, NE on March 9 at Slowdown, and close out April 6 at The Orange Peel in Las Vegas, NV. Canadian stops include Vancouver, BC; Calgary and Edmonton, AB; Regina, SK; and Winnipeg, MB. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (February 7).

In late January, Riffyou.com spoke with Against Me! guitarist James Bowman regarding frontperson Tom Gabel’s decision to live as a woman – under the name Laura Jane Grace – and why he chose to stick with the band after others left.

“Laura’s been a major part of my life and been my best friend and musical cohort for so long. There was no question to me about whether I wanted to keep doing it or not,” said Bowman. “This is what I do and I love doing it with her.

“There was a time of figuring things out – obviously. She’s been figuring out things for herself too,” he added. “It was a ‘take it as it goes’ type of situation. There was never a point where she was too careless. It was a comfortable [process] of ‘what should we do,’ and it evolved from there.”
