Willie Nelson Hair Braids Sell at Auction for $37K

To prove that not all music collectibles are created equal, it’s been confirmed that braided hair once chopped off of the head of country music icon, Willie Nelson, was sold at auction over the weekend for an astonishing $37,000.

The red locks – which were cutoff in the’80s – were sold at an Arizona auction that featured items once owned by late country artist, Waylon Jennings.

Reuters explains that Nelson’s braids were given to Jennings in 1983, as a gift to celebrate the latter’s sobriety. None other than Johnny and June Carter Cash threw the party for this occasion.

Although I’d run down the street swinging the braids above our head like a towel at a sporting event had I been able to purchase them, the actual buyer has opted to remain anonymous.

It’s fair to say that Jennings was always on Nelson’s hairline.
