If Alaska legalizes weed, Snoop Dogg will play
Earlier this month, reporter Charlo Greene very publically quit her TV news gig to support the legalization of marijuana in Alaska. During a recent GGN webscast featuring the aptly-named Greene and Snoop Dogg, the legendary hip-hop artist and fan of the toke, said that if Alaska were to legalize marijuana (for those 21 and older), he would come down for a gig: “If we get y’all to vote yes on Proposition 2, Snoop Dogg is coming to Alaska to do a concert, a wellness retreat concert,” he said. “And I’m bringing some of that California with me to celebrate.”

Rock in Rio rolling stateside
As legendary Brazilian music festival, Rock in Rio, prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2015, it will also expand its way into the US the same year. To be held on the weekends of May 8-9 (Rock Weekend) and May 15-16 (Pop Weekend) within the grounds of the MGM Resort, a slew a big-time headliners including Metallica, Taylor Swift, Linkin Park, No Doubt, Deftones, and John Legend have already been announced. Tickets start at $295 per weekend. Rumour has it that Cirque du Soleil will construct an open-air “City of Rock” that’ll feature six stages and “Rock Streets” that’ll reflect the music and cultural interests of the US, UK and Brazil.
