Watch New Billy Talent Video for “Chasing the Sun”
In November, Billy Talent released the career-spanning Hits album, a package that included a pair of new songs: “Kingdom of Zod” and “Chasing the Sun.”
While “Kingdom of Zod” is more reflective of the Billy Talent body of work, “Chasing the Sun” is a calmed down, introspective track that hits very close to home for the band.
“My brother passed away two years ago,” confided Billy Talent drummer Aaron Solowoniuk in an interview with Riffyou.com in September. “It was really hard for me…and a difficult time. [“Chasing the Sun”] is about me having a hard time losing somebody…anyone who has had a hard time losing somebody close [should relate.]”
He continued: “It was really weird, because six months before my brother died, I was having a conversation with my wife about how I’d never lost anyone close to me before. Ben, Ian, and Jon all saw me go through this difficult time and this song came out of it.”
