Watch Modest Mouse Get Some Awkward Advice
Vanessa Bayer has been lighting up outside of the walls of the Saturday Night Live studios with her online Sound Advice video series. Here, Bayer plays Janessa Slater, a media coach that easily makes many famous musicians feel tremendously uncomfortable.
In the latest edition, Slater sits with Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock and encourages him to change the band’s name “Because modesty is for losers and mice are taking over my apartment.”
As Brock sits uncomfortably as an amazing straight-laced, confused participant, he is encouraged to place Modest Mouse on the music festival circuit, as “There’s a ton of mediocre white people with a ton of disposable income looking to blow it [while] listening to middle-age, lumber-sexuals sing them lullabies in a wet field.”
