Watch Manic Street Preachers Play The Late Late Show
Manic Street Preachers are finishing up a run of dates in North America in which the band is performing its classic 1994 album, The Holy Bible.
Last night, however, Manic Street Preachers took a break from performing that album during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Instead, the trio ripped through “A Design for Life,” a track that was featured on the 1996 album, Everything Must Go.
During an interview last week with Riffyou.com, Manic Street Preachers drummer Sean Moore discussed how he and bandmates James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitar) and Nicky Wire (bass) will be retiring The Holy Bible after this tour.
“There are a lot of chapters that have closed in our story as a group,” explained Moore. “I think after this, we won’t be revisiting [The Holy Bible]. We have come to terms with a lot of those things. This is the reason why we did [the full album shows] in the UK and are doing them in North America: to say that this is the end of this chapter and that we won’t be going back and revisiting it in the future.”
He continued: “And we’ve been honest with our audience about it. There are a lot of people out there who love these songs and we just wanted to give them the opportunity to listen to them in a raw, live element. We might play the occasional song from the album [in the future], but I don’t think we’ll be doing this again.”
