Unboxing the Jack White Bonnaroo Vault Package
Back in October, we told you about what looked to be an exceptional Jack White Live at Bonnaroo 2014 Vault package being offered by Third Man Records. Well, today Riffyou.com’s trip to the mailbox proved fruitful, because our copy has arrived after its long journey from Nashville.
Housed in a beautiful vinyl-fitting box, the collection is as spectacular as what was initially promised by White’s label. It’s packed to the brim with a range of music nerd-friendly fixin’s, including three LPs, a DVD, plus a steady package of souvenirs.
We have yet to listen to said LPs or view the DVD (but of course we will!), but in the meantime wanted to give you an up-close and personal look at this new prized possession:
The front cover of the box shows White with a TV placed where his head should be. The appearance of the three bars on the set change when you adjust your viewing angle of it.
Whoa, that’s a lot of songs…and people! As it should be, the back of the box gives you the goods on which tracks appear on the three included LPs, as well as the DVD. The wide-ranging set runs two hours and forty-five minutes.
Once the lid of the box is opened, this is the image that’ll greet you – it is that of Isaiah “Ikey” Owens, a member of White’s band who passed away in Mexico shortly after a performance.
Next up, are these multi-coloured vinyl sleeves designed to protect the aforementioned LPs. Our first thought was, ‘wait, where the hell’s the vinyl?’
After the vinyl sleeves are removed, it’s discovered that the image we saw earlier of Owens was the flip side of this card.
These amazingly-captured moments of the Bonnaroo performance are provided as glossy 8×10″ prints destined for any music room’s wall.
Also for the wall, a classy gig-specific, Jack White poster.
Aha! Here they are! These gems were hidden beneath the previously shown concert poster. And yes, that’s some blue, white, and black vinyl for your eyes and ears!
Lastly, here’s the DVD of the full concert, along with a replica tour pass sticker, patch, and a very fancy looking USB flash drive that consists of bonus material. What is on it you ask?
SPOILER ALERT!
It contains a collection of wallpapers, as well as a wide selection of high-resolution, professional photographs of White and his band’s Bonnaroo performance.
It appears as though the Riffyou.com team will be busy for a while taking in this Vault package. If you don’t hear from us soon, do send help, because chances are our faces will be melted to the floor.
