UK band Klaxons to Play 3D-Printed Gear on Tour
UK ‘new rave’ trio, Klaxons, are taking a big risk for their forthcoming British tour by committing to use 3D-printing technology for major aspects of their shows.
In a video explanation that also sees the band visit the 3D-printing company poised to make this happen, it is noted that everything from guitars, to microphones, to amps, to lights can be creating using this new technology.
While the company feels confident that they can structurally make said items look like dead ringers for what’s typically trusted by bands, what’ll take some time is developing the functionality.
“We’re going to do something nobody has ever done before,” says Klaxons member Jamie Reynolds. “Something big, something fresh. Why not?”
Klaxons will release their new album, Love Frequency, on June 16 through Akashic Rekords/Sony Red. The 3D-centric tour is poised to kick off on October 25 at Norwich Waterfront.
