The Tea Party Return with “The Ocean At The End” in September
Dynamic Canadian rock trio, The Tea Party, will release The Ocean At The End on September 8 through Anthem/Universal Music. This is the band’s first studio album since 2004’s Seven Circles.
On June 24, the band had offered a preview of what it’s been up to since reforming by putting forth the single, “Water’s on Fire.”
After parting ways and focusing on different projects, The Tea Party – Jeff Martin, Stuart Chatwood, and Jeff Burrows – reunited for select Canadian and Australian dates in 2011. In 2013, the guys began working on new material in Byron Bay Australia, before returning to their Windsor, ON, stomping grounds.
“It’s a rock n’ roll record,” declares Martin, “We started the writing process in Byron Bay, and songs like ‘Brazil,’ ‘Cass Corridor,’ ‘Submission,’ and ‘Water’s on Fire’ came out of that session.
“But where things got really exciting for us was when we jammed in Windsor,” he continues. “Songs like ‘The 11th Hour’ and ‘L.o.C.’ came out and it was really rock n’ roll. We were having fun and not over-thinking it anymore. The water had passed under the bridge, and we’re three friends now. ‘What do you guys want to do, rock? Okay, let’s go!'”
The Ocean At The End can be pre-ordered today through iTunes. Each purchase will net you a free download of “Water’s on Fire.”
The Tea Party plan on embarking upon Canadian and Australian tour dates in October – stay tuned to Riffyou.com for those details.
