Taylor Swift Tops Charts with Eight Seconds of Noise
Proving that she really can make anything a hit song, Taylor Swift has managed to reach the #1 spot on the Canadian iTunes sales chart with eight seconds of nothingness.
On Monday, the Swift Army knew that their hero’s next single, “Welcome to New York,” would be released that day. So, when a mysterious ditty titled “Track 3” showed up on that day as well, it appears that many got caught up in the excitement and made that $1.29 purchase before actually sampling what it was.
Unfortunately for them, all they got was white noise. Yes, eight seconds of zero hooks, zero horrific attempts at hip-hop, and zero about a celebrity ex.
Swift nor Apple have publically commented on the matter, which leads Riffyou.com to believe that this is a rather ‘swift’ PR move that everyone – including us – are eating up with a gigantic spoon.
This would make Bono proud.
Swift’s new album, 1989, drops October 27. Brace yourselves.
