Sam Roberts Band Issuing Vinyl EP on Record Store Day
Canadian rockers and purveyors of craft beer, Sam Roberts Band, will release a brand new EP – Counting the Days – on April 18 as part of Record Store Day through Paper Bag Records/Universal.
In addition to the crazy Benjamin Nelson-created artwork pictured here, the album will be available on red vinyl with black and white splatter. Counting the Days follows the 2014 Sam Roberts Band album Lo-Fantasy, an album that saw the rock n’ rollers experiment with elements of funk, electronic, house, and African music. For their troubles, the band would receive a JUNO Award nomination in the Rock Album of the Year Category.
The EP’s title-track and lead single is described as “a sprawling psychedelia-infused rocker.” It clocks in at nearly eight minutes and can be streamed below (by clicking the photo).
