Ryan Adams Scoring New Al Pacino Movie
Apparently, when Ryan Adams isn’t busy dropping critically-acclaimed albums, surprise 7” recordings, or touring throughout the land, he is providing music for Al Pacino films. Okay, maybe it’s just the one film, but you know what we mean.
According to Film Music Reporter, Ryan Adams and composer Theodore Shapiro have written the score for Danny Collins, a comedy-drama flick starring Al Pacino, Annette Bening, Jennifer Garner, Bobby Cannavale, Josh Peck and Christopher Plummer.
Written and directed by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love., Last Vegas, Bolt, and Tangled), the movie follows a rocker that chooses to change his life after finding a letter that John Lennon had written to him. He is soon inspired to track down the biological son that he’s never met.
Adams last worked with Shapiro on “Stay Alive,” a track that was performed by Jose Gonzalez for the Ben Stiller film, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
A release date for Danny Collins hasn’t been confirmed, but it’s expected to reach theatres in 2014.
