In March, Ryan Adam released the massive, limited-edition, 42-song Live at Carnegie Hall vinyl box set through his Pax-Am Records label, but will now issue a compact edition of this acclaimed offering.

Due out on June 9 through Pax-Am and Universal Music will be Ryan Adams: Ten Songs From Live At Carnegie Hall. Available on CD and a single, 140-gram 12″ vinyl LP (download card included), the album will consist of eight career-spanning tunes, plus previously unreleased numbers like “This is Where We Meet in My Mind” and “How Much Light.”

At a recent live performance in Nashville, Adams covered Bryan Adams’ “Summer of ’69.” It generated a ton of attention and an excellent reaction from the Adams who composed it.

“Yes, I heard it,” explained the Canadian Adams in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle. “Ryan wrote to me to tell me the day before that he was going to do it. I think it was some sort of cathartic release for him to return to that venue and play that song, as you probably know the story there. So I think in some ways, he has been haunted by the song somewhat, which is a shame because it’s a really great song. Anyway, I’m happy he did it. He’s a great artist. And sure I’d sing one of his songs. I’m not sure which one, though.”
