Ryan Adams & Mandy Moore Ending Marriage
After six years, the marriage between prolific alt-country artist Ryan Adams and actress/past pop star 
Mandy Moore, is coming to an end.
“Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years,” read a statement issued to US Weekly on behalf of Adams and Moore. “It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time.”
Adams made headlines last year after he opted to hang up on a radio interview after being asked about his relationship with Moore.
“Okay, so I just hung up because I was on the radio getting asked about my wife,” he explained. “I was really nice about it the first time, and I’m sorry, but I won’t repeat myself. The deal is this: I’m a private person and I’ll be a gentleman and say I’m not talking about my marriage ever. I’ll never talk about it. Ever.”
On a creative level, Adams has been on a mission of late. In addition to last year’s critically-acclaimed and Grammy-nominated Self-Titled album, Adams also released a series of surprise 7” records through his Pax-Am label. He’s also toured a hefty amount and is attempting to breakthrough into the comic book business.
While divorce is a serious and sad matter for those involved, one can’t help but imagine what this will mean for Adams’ next album. He’s always found a way of turning heartbreak into magnificent music.
