Riff Clip: Single Mothers React to JUNO Nomination

Last week when the 2015 JUNO Award nominations were handed out at The Danforth Music Hall in Toronto, you could count London, Ontario punk rockers, Single Mothers, as a band that was genuinely surprised to be recognized for their stellar debut album, Negative Qualities.

The album (which came out through Dine Alone Records in October) has been nominated in the Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year category, facing off against efforts from Devin Townsend Project, Kataklysm, Shooting Guns, as well as Skull Fist.

“It’s the culmination of all the frustration and anxiety we experienced in our lives while trying to get to this point,” said guitarist Michael Peterson of the album during a 2014 interview with Riffyou.com. “It was like one big ‘agh!’”
