Petition Launched to Name a Drink After Lemmy

The passing of Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister hit the music community pretty hard. Some would even argue that Jack Daniels – the purveyor of Lemmy’s favourite booze – may also suffer greatly from one of its biggest customers dying.

Well, someone has put a tremendous amount of thought into the relationship between Lemmy and his love for JD and Coke and determined that such a drink should soon be known worldwide as the “Lemmy.” A petition launched on Change.org has already gained more than 20,000 signatures of support.

The petition description reads: “A Jack Daniels and Coke will forever be associated with Ian Fraser ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister, the iconic founder of Motorhead. To celebrate and remember one of Rock and Roll’s true legends, I petition everyone to henceforth and hereafter refer to the combination of Jack Daniels Whiskey and Coca-Cola as a “Lemmy.”
