Syracuse, NY-based noise-punk collective Perfect Pussy put their blood on sale, and a bunch of sickies converged and purchased it all.

Recently, the band released their Say Yes to Love Special Blood Edition Box Set through their label Captured Tracks. For the bargain basement price of $30, vampires and horror movie fans were able get a clear vinyl LP copy of the album…made out of frontwoman Meredith Graves’ “very own blood.” Whoa.

Less exciting items within the box set included cassette versions of Say Yes to Love and Say Yes to Live, along with an enamel band button; poster; and a download code that brought with it access to bonus live recordings.

Only 180 copies were made available online, and promptly gobbled up. For those lucky enough to make this purchase, the Perfect Pussy box set will ship the week of March 18.

In an interview with Riffyou.com in January, Graves told us about the biggest criticisms she has received regarding her band’s controversial name.

“Two very important women in my life – my boss of the last four years, and my mother, both women in their 50s – both hate it and think it’s totally embarrassing and gross,” she explained. “I’ve tried to explain my motivation to both of them, and they have basically the same response, which is that the average person doesn’t want to listen to me and will likely see it as an attention-seeking gimmick. I think that’s a totally valid critique, especially coming from two extremely strong, smart women.”

Perfect Pussy’s debut cassette, I Have Lost All Desire for Feeling, was declared one of the “27 Best Albums You Didn’t Hear in 2013,” by Rolling Stone.
