“Music is Sacred”: Jack White Wraps Mini-Acoustic Tour

Share

Last night at the Fargo Theatre in North Dakota, Jack White finished off his mini-acoustic tour JackWhite2014_BWwith a 14-song, career-spanning set. With this, White has completed his endeavour to perform in each and every American state.

As reported earlier this month, this five-date, stripped down tour – which featured performances in Idaho, Alaska, South Dakota, Wyoming and North Dakota – will be the last time we see White on tour for the foreseeable future.

“After many years of performing in a multitude of configurations, Jack is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time,” read an April 14 posting on the official Jack White Facebook page.

Closing out his North Dakota performance with his version of Leadbelly’s “Goodnight, Irene,” White took to the mic to issue one final message:

“If you feel strongly about music and love music, tell people that. Tell people that music is sacred,” said White. “Music is not disposable and worthless, it shouldn’t be treated that way.”

Last night’s show was made available through TIDAL, the high-fidelity audio streaming and exclusive content hub in which White is a stakeholder in. This concert will be available on-demand through the service at a later date.
