Motörhead Call Off Third Show Due to Lemmy’s Health
For the third time in a week, Motörhead were forced to a cancel a gig on its American tour due to health issues experienced by its leader Lemmy Kilmister.
During a show last night in Austin, Texas, Kilmister stopped midway through the band’s third song of the set, “Metropolis,” before telling the crowd “I can’t do it.” He later returned to the stage and told fans “You are one of the best gigs in America, and I would love to play for you, but I can’t… So please accept my apologies. Next time, all right?”
Ahead of “Metropolis” being played, Kilmister did warn the crowd that he had recently taken ill and was unsure as to if he’d be able to make it through the night.
On Thursday (August 27), Motörhead stopped a show in Salt Lake City as Kilmister struggled to breathe on stage in a region known for its high altitude. Subsequently, the band would pull out of its Friday (August 28) slot at Riot Fest Denver.
Last week, Motörhead released its new album, “Bad Magic.”
Here’s how it went down in Austin:
