Mötley Crüe Want Fans to Vote for European Tour Dates
As Mötley Crüe continues along on The Final Tour, the band has launched a new online campaign in which fans can vote on which European cities should host shows before the year is out. Mötley Crüe will play its last gig on December 31 at The Staples Center in Los Angeles.
In all, 32 cities have been listed for the vote, including Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Berlin, Glasgow, Hamburg, Helsinki, London, Paris, Rome and Stockholm. It’s not clear when the European leg of shows for Mötley Crüe would begin, or how many gigs will be played.
Fans can also use #demandthecrue on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to tell the band where it should go.
Last month, Riffyou.com sat down for an interview with Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx. During the conversation, he spoke about his future with Sixx: A.M. and his decision to not play Mötley Crüe songs after the farewell tour is complete.
“What’s important to me is to never do anything I already did in Mötley Crüe, because I cherish that music, those times and those band members,” explained Sixx. “So, I never want to try and replicate that.
“A lot of times, I see people try and do ‘the next thing’ and it’s just kind of the same as the other. [If that were me] I’d think, ‘Well, why not just do Mötley Crüe?’ But why would I do another version of Mötley Crüe? Sixx: A.M. is completely different musically, spiritually, emotionally, visually…and that gives me pride,” he continued. “The people who are coming to see us, are coming to see Sixx: A.M. We don’t play Mötley Crüe music and we never will play Mötley Crüe music. The day Mötley Crüe plays its last show, I will never play another Mötley Crüe song again…even if it’s one I wrote. To be respectful to Mötley Crüe is the biggest gift I can give to fans.”
