Mötley Crüe Confirm its Last European Tour Dates
Last month, Mötley Crüe held a fan-driven vote to determine which European cities would be included on the band’s Final Tour. After more than 500,000 votes from fans across 18 countries came pouring in through the online/social media campaign, Mötley Crüe has confirmed 12 shows overseas.
The European jaunt will begin on November 2 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England and close out on November 18 at Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland. Originally, Mötley Crüe had listed 32 cities in which fans could demand shows in. As far as we can tell, this is the absolute final tour date-related announcement Mötley Crüe will ever make.
Upon returning from Europe, Mötley Crüe will step back on North American soil in December for the last leg of The Final Tour. The last show will happen on December 31 at The Staples Centre in Los Angeles.
When Riffyou.com spoke with Nikki Sixx in April about his other band, Sixx: A.M., he made it clear how important it is for him to respect Mötley Crüe’s legacy moving forward.
“What’s important to me is to never do anything I already did in Mötley Crüe, because I cherish that music, those times and those band members,” explained Sixx. “So, I never want to try and replicate that.
“A lot of times, I see people try and do ‘the next thing’ and it’s just kind of the same as the other. [If that were me] I’d think, ‘Well, why not just do Mötley Crüe?’ But why would I do another version of Mötley Crüe? Sixx: A.M. is completely different musically, spiritually, emotionally, visually…and that gives me pride,” he continued. “The people who are coming to see us, are coming to see Sixx: A.M. We don’t play Mötley Crüe music and we never will play Mötley Crüe music. The day Mötley Crüe plays its last show, I will never play another Mötley Crüe song again…even if it’s one I wrote. To be respectful to Mötley Crüe is the biggest gift I can give to fans.”
