Look at Jonathan Rhys Meyers Portraying Joe Strummer
The Clash’s Joe Strummer was one of the most important and iconic musical figures to emerge out of the early punk rock era. Now, Strummer and The Clash are the central figures in London Town, a forthcoming feature film.
In the role of Strummer is actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Earlier today, The Hollywood Reporter shared the exclusive image {seen below} of Meyers portraying Strummer.
London Town will tell the tale of a teenager (played by Daniel Huttlestone) that’s introduced to The Clash by his estranged mother. This introduction winds up changing his life forever.
Naturally, London Town will feature classic songs from The Clash like “White Riot” and “Clampdown.”
A release date for the film has yet to be confirmed.
