Live and Let…Live: Axl Rose is NOT Dead
Yesterday, a report surfaced suggesting that mad hatter Guns N’ Roses frontman, Axl Rose, had been found dead in the foyer of his West Hollywood home. But, the whole thing turned out to be a hoax.
This fake news was brought to the world by what looked to be a legit MSNBC.com news article. However, as Consequence of Sound pointed out, the page’s URL is missing the all-important ‘.com.’
To the bullshit publisher’s credit, the story provided some nice detail, including why Rose was discovered in the first place, as well as an ‘official’ quote from authorities:
“The home was entered by police through an open back door where a body was found in the foyer area. We have found no signs of abuse or foul play and have turned the case over to the coroner’s office to make a final ruling on the cause of death,” said Ofc. William Tenpenny, a Hollywood Police spokesperson.
In response to the death hoax, Rose tweeted: “If I’m dead do I still have to pay taxes?”
So there you go, folks. Don’t cry tonight. All is well.
