Listen to The Dead Weather’s New Track, “Cop And Go”
The Dead Weather will release Dodge and Burn on September 25, but first we get to listen in on “Cop and Go,” the latest hammering track from the album.
“Cop and Go” is available to purchase online, but can also be received as an automatic download if you opt to pre-order Dodge and Burn digitally.
“The cool thing about this record for me is we went into it knowing that we weren’t going to do a normal promotional cycle for a record — touring it, the normal thing that people do when they release records,” explained The Dead Weather’s Dean Ferita when discussing why his band won’t be touring Dodge and Burn. “It was more of us just wanting to get together and play again because we hadn’t done it in four years. It was more about us staying close and continuing to make music.”
Added vocalist Alison Mosshart: “We’re doing something pretty non-traditional by [not touring], but when you start to think about it, you think, “What’s better? What’s worse? Not touring or just sitting on a record for a couple of years?” It feels great to put something out in the world and choosing to look at that in a positive way, even though we all wish we could be on stage.”
