Listen to Old Dave Grohl Track, “Hooker on the Street”
In the latest episode of Sonic Highways, Dave Grohl went back to Seattle, WA, where he reflected upon his time in Nirvana and transition into Foo Fighters. While we learned that Kurt Cobain kissed Grohl on the face after hearing early solo demos, what’s more interesting is hearing – for the first time – an old track by the Foos frontman.
Even through Grohl has been celebrated for his consistent ability to attach his name to great songs and albums, this ancient clip shows that even the best artists have supreme duds locked away in the vault.
The song, “Hooker on the Street,” sounds like a throwaway and was hopefully treated that way. Grohl’s been known to have a wicked sense of humour, so let’s just hope this song is another example of that.
