For several decades now, Rush has been viewed as one of the world’s most sonically prolific rock acts, rushbut it is their long string of humanitarian efforts that will be honoured at the 2015 JUNO Awards in Hamilton, ON.

On March 14 at the 2015 JUNO Gala and Awards Dinner, Rush will receive the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award, a prize that recognizes “outstanding Canadian artists whose contributions have positively enhanced the social fabric of Canada.”

During their time on the scene, Rush have worked with a vast group of initiatives, including the Toronto Food Bank, AIDS research, United Way, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Make It Right Foundation, Alberta Flood Relief, Little Kids Rock, Child Advocates, Dominic Triano Foundation, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Casey House, the Kidney Foundation, Chilean Red Cross and Grapes for Humanity Canada.

Said Rush in a statement: “We are sincerely grateful to be recognized as this year’s recipients of the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.  We are proud, honoured and humbled to be in the company of all Canadians who find it within their hearts to help those in need.”

The 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees last released Clockwork Angels in 2012.

Let’s hope Rush’s forthcoming speech is as amazing as this one:
