John Lydon Spent a Rotten Amount of Money on Apps
John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten) of Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. fame recently opened up about his perspective on fame, fortune, charity and expenditures in an interesting interview with The Telegrath.
During that conversation, he revealed spending a shocking amount of money on iPad apps.
“I wasted – you’re the first to know this – 10,000 fucking pounds in the last two years on apps on my iPad,” Lydon told the publication. “I got into Game of Thrones, Game of War, Real Racing, and I just wanted to up the ante. And like an idiot I didn’t check myself. I’ve been checked now. But there’s a kid in me, see? A bit of my childhood was taken from me and I’m determined to bring it back.”
At the end of the interview, Lydon was also asked ‘Does money make you happy?’ This was his response:
“It does when other people spend theirs on me. No, I don’t think money makes you happy,” replied Lydon. “It doesn’t buy loyalty or unity or honesty. It replaces those things. I see many famous people end up completely isolated because they can’t trust anyone. They’re there for the cash and die terrible lonely deaths. Gotta write a song about it!”
