Is Oasis Plotting a Reunion? Hmm…
As amusing as it has been to watch Noel and Liam Gallagher publicly battle each other for the last 20 years, it was always better when they put differences aside and put Oasis in studio, or on stage. Now, according to a report by UK tabloid The Daily Mirror, the brothers Gallagher may be ready to place differences aside and get Oasis back together.
“It’s early days in terms of the details, but Noel and Liam are back on good terms and ready to give things another go,” an unnamed source told the publication. “Nothing is signed but it’s what you might call a gentlemen’s agreement between them. Ultimately they’re family and whatever has gone on before can be sorted out – they’re very close beneath all the bluster.”
Of course, the Gallagher’s have yet to respond to this report. And of course, we always have to be careful about what a tabloid tells us.
That said, Liam recently shared a photo of himself with a backstage pass for one of Noel’s solo shows, so perhaps they’re buddies again?
For Noel, however, he has been adamant for years that we doesn’t want to bring Oasis back to life. But, if it were to somehow happen, it would only be for the money.
“If I was ever going to do it, it would only be for the money,” said Gallagher in an interview with Q. “This isn’t me putting it out there, by the way. Would I do it for charity? No way. We’re not that kind of people. For Glastonbury? I don’t think Michael Eavis has got enough money. But would we get back together one day? As long as everybody is still alive and still has their hair, it’s always a possibility. But only for the money.”
Noel exited Oasis in 2009. Liam and the remaining members carried as Beady Eye.
