Who are you and what do you do?
“We are A New Day, a pop-rock band from Essex.”

In 100 words or less, tell us how your band has gotten to this point.
“The band formed in 2012 when Scott and Glen left their previous band to start a new one with Scott’s brother Sam. The singer, a friend of Sam then joined to complete the lineup. We released our first EP and it was received with great enthusiasm. In early 2013, our original singer left to pursue other interests, and this was when Chris joined the band. Since then, we have been traveling around the country playing various venues and have released our second EP, which was an even bigger success. In 2014, we have been focusing on new recordings and building a bigger fan base.

What is your latest release and how would you best describe it to someone who hasn’t heard your band?
“Our recent EP is called Now it’s Our Turn. It could be described as being pop-punk with an Essex accent, as well as a nod to Green Day with perky tunes and rousing choruses.”

When making an album, which aspect of the process do you put the most time into and why?
“Song writing. We tend to take time with this, as we want to make sure everything is as good as it can be.”

What is the best part about your band and why?
“We would say the members in it, because we’re all friends and when one person has an idea we all work on it together.”

What makes your band unique from the rest?
“We’re pop-rock but with an English accent.”

How does your band survive the challenges of touring/gigging?
“Very well, we have to work around our jobs, but we always manage to get to the gigs.”

Would you rather be critically-acclaimed; rich and famous; or an under-the-radar band with a dedicated fan base?
“The latter.”

If you’d have to compare your band to another one out there, living or dead, who would it be and why?
“All Time Low. Their music is pop-punk with catchy chorus’ too.”

Which band/musician would you like to share many drinks with? What would you talk about?
“Simple Plan. We’d talk about touring.”
