Foo Fighters an Odds-on Favourite to Headline Glastonbury
According to a report by NME, Foo Fighters have become an odds-on favourite to headline the 2015 edition of Glastonbury.
Bookmakers Paddy Power have the odds at 5/4 that Foo Fighters will headline the epic four-day music festival, to be held June 24-28 at Worthy Farm in England. It doesn’t hurt that in 2014 Foos frontman Dave Grohl said, “All [Glastonbury’s] gotta do is call. I keep telling them all they’ve gotta do is call my phone.” He also joked that Foo Fighters would only do it if Prince and Oasis agreed to headline as well.
Additionally, the same odds-makers have AC/DC at 6/1 to headline the festival, while Florence + The Machine is listed at 8/1. As for the long-defunct Oasis, the odds are a little heavier at 12/1.
“If I was ever going to [re-form Oasis], it would only be for the money,” said Noel Gallagher in an interview with Q last month. “This isn’t me putting it out there, by the way. Would I do it for charity? No way. We’re not that kind of people. For Glastonbury? I don’t think [organizer] Michael Eavis has got enough money. But would we get back together one day? As long as everybody is still alive and still has their hair, it’s always a possibility. But only for the money.”
Glastonbury will announce its lineup in the spring. However, it already seems as if spiritual guru, the Dalai Lama, is poised to appear at the event.
