Colbert Says Goodbye with Star-Studded Sing-Along
Last night on the final episode of Emmy Award-winner, The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert bid his nation of fans a fond farewell through an all-star sing-along that featured an array of actors, musicians, political figures, athletes, and even a few a puppets.
As Colbert began to sing Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again,” he was soon joined by his best buddy at Comedy Central and host of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart, before a sea of celebrities made their way onto the stage.
With the cameras panning along, we were able to spot R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe (who had just been sold for a quarter the night before by Colbert), Randy Newman, Willie Nelson, James Franco, Bryan Cranston, Cyndi Lauper, Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco), Barry Manilow, Bill Clinton, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, as well as Cookie Monster and Big Bird. But, believe us when we say there were many, many more.
In case you missed it, here’s Colbert’s epic sendoff to The Late Show:
