For Charity, One Man is Only Listening to Nickelback this Week
Listening to Nickelback has long been a painful experience for anyone brave enough to take on that 
voyage. But, there is one man out there willing to endure all of that hurt (and likely some psychological damage) as long as it helps out a cause.
Introducing Jesse Carey, the brave soul who has raised over $18,000 for Charity: Water, an organization that builds water wells for countries in need. How did he do this? By committing to listen to Nickelback music, and only Nickelback music, for a week straight. Currently, he is on day three.
Carey’s initial goal was to raise $10,000, but his crazy endeavour seems to have struck the right chord…which is coincidently something that Nickelback hasn’t done in the last decade.
“Obviously, we want to build a well and provide a community somewhere in need with clean water. But the second fold…is to basically be an inspiration to people,” said Carey during an interview with the Relevant podcast. “There’s no adversity that can not be overcome…I want someone who is going through a hard time [to say] ‘I’m really down and out and life’s really got me down. But you know what? There’s a guy whose been listening to Nickelback for days straight.’ I just want to lift the confidence of what a human being is even capable of.”
