CBGB – the iconic live music venue that Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, and Television called home in the ‘70s – may have closed down cbgb-smallin 2006, but it’s presence is still being felt today with the announcement of the third annual CBGB Music and Film Festival.

Rolling from October 8-12 in New York City, the event will premiere films, as well as present live performances, new music, industry discussions, along with other special events. Housing these happenings will be theatres, clubs, galleries, private spaces, hotels, and rooftops.

Center 548 – a renovated 35,000 square-foot warehouse – will serve as the festival’s headquarters and play host to music-themed exhibitions, concerts, comedy showcases, and CBGB Icon Awards.

Details regarding who will be participating at the festival are forthcoming (last year My Morning Jacket and Grizzly Bear took part). But, if you can assume today that it’s going to be awesome regardless, then pick up tickets now for $10-$50.

“We continue to support emerging and established talent who represent music and film in all their forms,” says CBGB Co-Owner Tim Hayes. “For us, music transcends space and sharing it with fans in a unique form is something we are very passionate about.”
