Canadian Prime Minister Performs “Sweet Child O’ Mine”
Last week, Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose was involved in a celebrity death hoax, but he may now wish that he was dead after he sees Conservative Canadian Prime Minister perform a rendition of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” at his political party’s Christmas party. At least it wasn’t Sheryl Crow giving it another go.
Along with his band the Van Cats, PM Harper sat behind his keyboard, dressed head to toe in black, and performed a medley of songs, including selections from The Beatles, Johnny Cash, John Denver, and of course, GNR.
Luckily for all of us, cameras were on the scene to bring us some of this head-scratching and giggle-worthy concert. Together, let’s thank the CBC for publishing this footage of PM Harper’s take of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and John Denver’s “Country Road.”
On a side note, does anyone else find it strange that he didn’t choose to play any Canadian songs by Canadian bands?
