Brian Fallon “can’t say” If There’ll be Another Gaslight Anthem Album
In 2015, The Gaslight Anthem announced that they were going on hiatus in order to “step back until we have something we feel excited about rather than going right back to making a record just for the sake of making the next record.”
After garnering lots of praise for their big, 2012 rock album Handwritten, The Gaslight Anthem’s gentler 2014 follow-up, Get Hurt, received some heavy-handed criticism. An outsider would assume that this must’ve taken a toll on the band.
Whether it did or not – or to what degree – is unclear, but what we do know for sure is that The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon will release his debut solo album, Painkillers, on March 11. Riffyou.com has heard Fallon’s album already and can easily applaud it. We think you’ll love it!
Recently, Riffyou.com got in touch with Fallon to discuss Painkillers and couldn’t help but ask him: ‘What do you hope for the future of Gaslight? Will there be another album?’ The response may be tough for some fans of The Gaslight Anthem to accept.
“I hope people continue to love the band,” responded Fallon. “The music is still right there to listen to anytime anyone wants. That’s the beautiful part – it never goes away. I honestly can’t say if there will be another album. If we come up with a good idea for songs, then yes. If not, then no. We’ve always been a band who does best when we’re doing what we believe in, and what we believe in is keeping the integrity of the band, even if that means not doing it.”
Stay tuned next week for our entire Q&A will Fallon!
