Blur Returning with First Album in 12 Years

Brit-pop icons Blur have confirmed that they will return with The Magic Whip, their first new studio album since 2003’s Think Tank. It will also be the first Blur album in 16-years to feature the original lineup of Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James, and Dave Rowntree.

The Magic Whip will be released on April 27 through Warner Music Group, and although a tour hasn’t been announced, Blur has signed on to headline British Summer Time Hyde Park on June 20. Tickets for that show go on sale to the general public on February 27, but fans who pre-order the album will have access to a 71-hour presale.

During the hiatus of Blur, frontman Damon Albarn remained heavily involved in the music community as a member of Gorillaz and The Good, The Bad & The Queen. He also released a critically acclaimed solo album, Everyday Robots, in 2014.
