Audio: Trigger Happy Apologizes for Dallas Green Encounter
Yesterday during a very candid interview on 93.3 CFMU McMaster Radio program, Lou’s Control, Al Nolan of veteran Canadian punk act, The Almighty Trigger Happy, took to the airwaves to discuss a ton, including a rough run-in with Dallas Green of City and Colour.
As Nolan explains, he was honoured to play the main stage at this year’s Riot Fest, but unfortunately things got ugly backstage after the fact. He admits to pounding back a bunch of beer before encountering Green and mouthing off to the revered solo artist.
The incident was tweeted out by Green and proves to be a situation that Nolan regrets: “If I wasn’t the most disgusting, ignorant, most belligerent asshole ever in the whole world…I made a real jack ass out of myself in front of Dallas Green and his wife. I even called him the f-word, [but] I don’t know where that came from. I don’t know if any of his disciples or minions are listening right now…I don’t need to be forgiven, but I am extremely sorry and I’m very ashamed of what I did and what I said.”
In 1999, The Almighty Trigger Happy released their final album, I Hate Us. However, in his interview with hosts Lou Molinaro and Benjamin Rispin, Nolan also details his new perspective on the band, past tribulations, as well as what’s next for it.
You can listen to a chunk of Nolan’s interview below. And, don’t forget to catch them at Burly Calling on December 5 opening for Teenage Head and Grade at Boston Manor.
