FIDLAR Intro Album, Go Retro in “40oz On Repeat” Video
The Los Angeles rockers known as FIDLAR will return with its sophomore album, Too, on September 4 through Dine Alone Records. Physical copies can be pre-ordered today, while the digital edition can be nabbed via iTunes on June 9.
“We could have made record number one again… but instead we decided to challenge ourselves and admit that we don’t know everything,” said FIDLAR guitarist and lead vocalist Zac Carper. “Up until this point we had recorded everything ourselves, so working with a producer taught us so much. I didn’t want to make a standard rock record. The goal for this album was to think outside the box and I think Jay [Joyce, producer] really helped us do that.”
A press release regarding Too describes the album as one that “showcases a band that continues to fine-tune its sonic approach while also highlighting a more introspective and revelatory approach to songwriting.”
To get the ball rolling on Too, FIDLAR have released a video for the killer new track, “40oz on Repeat.” In it, the band pay tribute to the videos that intrigued its members while growing up.
“In the late ’90s and early 2000s, music videos were such a huge deal,” added Carper. “We decided that instead of making one overly slick music video, we would nod to 15 of our favorite music videos that we grew up with. Everyone in the band threw in their ideas.”
Included in the video is FIDLAR taking on the looks and actions of Korn, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, Oasis, Soundgarden, Green Day, Missy Elliott and more. You can watch all that right here:
